Architectural Building for All the Senses: Bringing Space to Life

All too often, architectural designs rely more heavily on just one primary sense – the visual one. The other senses are unfortunately frequently neglected. This is unfortunate since it is through the senses that architecture can have profound effect. For instance,architectural building can more truly relate to the surrounding culture through all of the senses. Addressing historic, traditional or present-day cultural patterns can make a work of architecture a success when the senses are not ignored.

Project: Las Vegas City Centre

Vision: A city within a city

It began two years ago as the vision of a handful of individuals and a company willing to do what it would take to create something never seen or experienced before. To give form to its vision.
MGM MIRAGE selected the best urban planners and eight acclaimed architects to create and define 1,200 feet of frontage on the Las Vegas Strip, one of the most visited locations on earth.

The Chrystals and Area Resort at City Centre ( Las Vegas)

This incredible pixelated skyscraper by Singapore-based Design Act was a finalist in a competition to design a pavilion for the World Expo 2010.  Entitled “My Dream, Our Vision”, the project uses permutated cubes to generate a spectacular modular sculpture that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Singapore as an efficient, dynamic, cosmopolitan, and forward-looking nation.
